Founded in 2023, The Peninsula Blitz Basketball Club started in the summer season leading from 2023 into 2024.
Our Commitee, made up of local parents, provides help to our coaches and Team Managers and have secured a community family orientated partners to back our club for the next three years.
The Club itself undertook a different approach and have secured another Community Partner in The Bellarine Community Health and are sponsoring the organisation in the area of youth mental health. This is with the sole purpose to give back to the community and support those in need.
Blitz Basketball club is dedicated to promoting physical activity and healthy lifestyles in the community. We strive to create a welcoming environment that fosters personal growth, teamwork, and social connections. Through our programmes and facilities, we aim to empower individuals to reach their full potential.
We pride ourselves on providing a safe and fun environment for players of all abilities and ages. We strive to be the leading club for inclusivity in the Bellarine region.
Starting off with 14 teams in total, a very small board, mostly parents of players that have been providing top-notch basketball skills and training to our players.
As we are a community-based basketball club, we rely on support from our community to help train our next superstars on the court. Training facilities are hard to come by, however we have received support and train at the Clifton Springs Primary School Gym, supported and funded by our local golf club the Clifton Springs Golf Club.
Although small it provides all that can be required to establish safe training facilities, A place for our parents to organise with team managers and if needed organising rides to training and games.
As we build so does our perception and attraction in the community, so as a club we need the opportunity to relay information and supply other items such as brand clothing and uniforms. We are here to provide a safe and secure basketball club that encourages all with all abilities and involve all that wish to participate.
Train Harder than you play, and play will become easier than training as you will be prepared for anything. - Peter Hobbs

Although our Basketball Club has started small, we have already begun to engage with the community in a variety of ways.
Firstly, our Major Corporate Partner Souva Bar and Restaurant Drysdale. The Owners Julia and Milton and their team have been a beacon of support
From Humble Beginnings to establishing some of the top restaurants in the Geelong and Bellarine Peninsula have Souva on Board only brought together that great family ethos, something that our community has been built on.
Our Next Step was to create a connection with the community, by which we have done something that no other club has done on the Bellarine and our club has become community Partners with the Bellarine Community Health Ltd, in order to establish a connection to provide support with funding for various projects centered around supporting the mental health of the youth of the area in particular the Headspace Ocean Grove and support facility right next to the Bellarine Secondary College Basketball Courts, Fitting I know.
Further Corporate Partners such as The Gordon University, providing free first aid training for coaches, Team Managers and Administration staff, to ensure safe and best practice should the need arise.
